Just about to start my last term of school ever, and I could not be more excited to get it over and done with.

BRING IT ON
Overall, these holidays have been pretty good. There has been lots of coffee, harbour walks and lovely sunsets, but really I have spent a lot of the time in the library. It's been ok, I don't have that guilty feeling like I have wasted 3 weeks, so it must have been valuable.
I'm house sitting and they have a magnificent garden, so mum I went down and "helped ourselves" to their fresh produce. I then made tabouli with the herbs and some raw bliss balls made with dates, it was a pretty good end to a busy holiday :)
My god what a night. Chet Faker is an amazing performer and it was an absolute honour to be in his presence and to hear all of his masterpieces live. When asked how it was from a friend, the only word that came to mind was "beautiful" and I admitted to it, ignoring how lame it sounded, but it was true, it was a beautiful concert. Having bought the tickets in April, the date 26th of June was highly anticipated. If you have ever been to Enmore theatre you'll know that the smaller stage and moshpit calls for a more intimate concert experience. Adorned in all black (and by happenstance so was I which was funny) and with a little beanie, Chet rocked the stage, wooing the audience with soft vocal, some groovy beats and melodic gold. Also he cleverly harmonised with himself and even talked with us about his dog, presenting himself as an extremely grounded musician, down to earth and in the business solely for the love of music. To quote him "real music is about having the ability to fuck up." Joined by good company, and surrounded by funky people roughly my own age, it was a perfect night and I am so lucky I had the opportunity to go.
I was pretty much too incapacitated by the beauty of his performance that I was unable to take any quality photos, or videos or anything...but here are some great photos snapped by lifewithoutandy - see them here
He finished the night with Talk is Cheap from his album "Built on Glass"- and I was hoping for a live sax to come out on stage (I am an intense sax enthusiast) but instead he played it on the piano, and it was poignant end to the concert. Although this cannot convey the experience, a taste of the live version is here, give it a listen...also if you haven't heard much of his album, I strongly recommend getting it, it is a masterpiece.
Just Mum and I hitting up Melbourne for 3 jam-packed days. There was definitely lots of shopping (new black jeans, a vintage skirt and a book) and lots of cute lane-way coffee shops and street art. Also we went to look at Universities and I was very impressed and very tempted to go to uni in Melbourne. The campuses, the culture and the feel of the city is great, and it is surely a place for me. The arts hub is thriving and I can just imagine me there, fresh faced and newly of age in such a fantastic city. Bring on the future. - J
Gotta say it, Groovin the Moo (26th April 2014) was one of the best days of my life. The line-up was insane, I had boundless energy all day and spent good quality time with friends. I was waiting for the day for MONTHS and when it came...it delivered. I rocked out to Thief, caught some of All Day, danced to Jungle Giants and Robert Delong, saw Vance Joy perform Riptide, feared for my life in Violent Soho, heard Thundamentals perform one of my fave songs, got on my friends shoulders for The Kite String Tangle, nearly died at the front of the mosh in Peking Duck, danced to Wave Racer whilst eating a waffle outside, AND finished an awesome day with What So Not and Disclousure, who absolutely smashed it. After Latch finished I felt so incredibly content and buzzing. HELL YES that was such a good day! Groovin the Moo, you served me so well, thank you.

One week of lying on the beach, reading my book, sunset watching, french speaking and eating too much fresh bread and tropical fruit. One of the most relaxing weeks of my life, and after such a hard term it was very well received.
